AmCham Business Summit to Drive U.S.–East Africa Trade and Investment Opportunities Across 7 High-Growth Sectors

For Immediate Release

NAIROBI, Kenya — 4th August, 2026: The American Chamber of Commerce Kenya (AmCham Kenya) will host the AmCham Business Summit 2026 on September 9–10, 2026, in Nairobi, Kenya, to advance investment, trade, and commercial cooperation between the United States and East Africa.

The Summit is the premier convening of the U.S.–East Africa business community, bringing together American and East African business executives, investors, senior government officials, and multilateral stakeholders to advance dialogue and unlock opportunities for expanded economic growth across the region.

This year’s edition takes place at a moment of exceptional opportunity for the multilateral relationship, as global supply chains realign, digital transformation accelerates, and investors seek stable, high-growth markets; the East African region is increasingly positioned as a gateway to unlock the broader African Continental Free Trade Area market.

“Kenya and East Africa are entering a decisive period in their commercial relationship with the United States,” said Paul Muthaura, CEO of AmCham Kenya. “The opportunity calls on us to translate policy ambition into investment, stronger regional value chains and durable partnerships. AmCham’s role is to bring the right decision-makers together, address the barriers limiting investment and ensure that the Summit delivers commercial partnerships and measurable outcomes.”

Building on the success of the previous four editions that generated more than US$2 billion in tracked investment commitments and brought together over 5,000 delegates from more than 30 countries, the 2026 edition is anchored in seven high-growth sectors at the intersection of East Africa’s economic transformation priorities and U.S. strategic interests: Critical Minerals, Digital Economy, Health, Manufacturing, Energy & Infrastructure, Agriculture, and the Creative Economy. It will be co-convened with the U.S. Embassy in Kenya and co-hosted with the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce will serve as a strategic partner alongside regional AmChams from Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Tanzania.

The program delivers frontline insight into market trends, policy shifts, and investment priorities shaping East Africa’s future, spotlighting the region as a premier destination for U.S. and international capital; through high-level plenary sessions, sector-focused discussions, Sector Deal Rooms, and structured B2B and B2G matchmaking, connecting participants directly with business partners, investors, and government decision-makers.

“The Summit will connect policy, capital and enterprise, enabling decision-makers to address investment bottlenecks, advance commercially viable projects and build partnerships that create shared prosperity across the United States and East Africa,” added Angela Ng’ang’a, AmCham Kenya Board President.
